December 2023 | A Stellar Year for Origami Solar!

Dec 13, 2023

Following on Origami’s win of the US DoE American-Made Solar grand prize in 2022, interest across the solar industry in the benefits and value of steel module frames has grown substantially. We are seeing engagement across the solar value chain from module buyers, module makers, EPCs, and tracker and racking manufacturers.

In May, Origami Solar released our second generation frame design and began offering production samples to module makers for evaluation and certification testing. We are excited about the testing results and will be providing updates and results early in 2024.

Domestic steel is enabling energy security, while leading to more domestic jobs and delivering domestic content benefits under the Inflation Reduction Act. The superior benefits of steel over aluminum are compelling and the industry is responding.

The Origami Solar team has been growing throughout 2023! The addition of Michael Gray as Chief Operating Officer, Lauren Busby Ahsler as VP of Engineering, and Lou Marrero as VP of Sales has brought significant expertise to the team and has allowed us to focus on scaling up our supply chain and the business as we prepare for production shipments the middle of next year.
As we approach the end of this exciting year, the team at Origami Solar would like to thank you for your support as we double down on our efforts to reframe the solar industry supply chain. We wish you all a safe and relaxing holiday season and look forward to working with you in 2024.
